DMCA Policy

Overview

Pax — Personal Cognitive Firewall respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects its users to do the same. In accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act of 1998 (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. § 512, we will respond promptly to claims of copyright infringement that are reported to our designated copyright agent.

Because Pax does not host, store, or distribute third-party content — it only analyzes publicly accessible pages in real time — DMCA claims against Pax are expected to be rare. However, we take all such claims seriously and will respond appropriately.

How Pax Handles Content

When a user scans a web page with Pax:

• The visible text of the page is sent to the Anthropic Claude API for pattern analysis
• The content is not stored, cached, or retained by Pax after the analysis is complete
• Pax does not reproduce or display the content beyond showing brief excerpts to the user for context
• No content is shared with any third party other than Anthropic for the purpose of analysis

This use is consistent with fair use principles under 17 U.S.C. § 107, as it is transformative, analytical, and non-commercial in nature relative to the original content.

Filing a DMCA Takedown Notice

If you believe that your copyrighted work has been used in a way that constitutes copyright infringement, please send a written notice to our designated copyright agent containing all of the following:

• Your full legal name and contact information (address, phone number, email)
• A description of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed
• A description of where the allegedly infringing material is located, with enough detail for us to locate it
• A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
• A statement that the information in your notice is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf
• Your electronic or physical signature

Incomplete notices will not be processed. We will respond to complete, valid notices within 10 business days.

Counter-Notification

If you believe your content was removed or disabled as a result of a mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notification. Your counter-notification must include:

• Your full legal name, address, phone number, and email address
• Identification of the material that was removed and its location before removal
• A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification
• A statement consenting to jurisdiction of the federal district court in Texas
• Your electronic or physical signature

Repeat Infringers

Pax reserves the right to terminate the accounts of users who are found to be repeat infringers of intellectual property rights in accordance with the DMCA and other applicable law.
